Hello Folks.

I have decided to let my old box soldier on.

The input bearings are shot amongst other things.

Can i put an additive in there to quieten it a little.

I cannot afford another gearbox at the present time as i need to replace the kingpin on the passenger side and get some more welding done next week.

My old box ran a lot smoother with some 'molly slip for gear boxes' in it. You could also find that a good flush through and change of oil works wonders too. May give you the extra time you need to source a decent replacement.

I wonder if bluey will mind having molly in his gearbox :)

I wouldn't waste money on any additive - just make sure there is oil in there - and it willlast a long long time.

I'd save the cost of the additive and put it towards another box!

I think I've got some in the garage, it came free with something.
