upper pivot

what is the best way to remove the upper pivot bolt out of the damper arm

no but thank you its the bolt that connects the top trunion to the damper arm

Ah, yeah, that one ... I gave up and left it where it was! ... sorry I know that isnt much help :(

would of left it but it went and snaped when i was trying to undo it

Heat up the boss on the end of the arm and drift the pin out with a big hammer. They are often stuck very tight indeed. At least if it's knackered you don't have to worry about mushrooming the threaded bit. If the heat and big hammer method fails (and so does the Bigger Hammer method! ;)) then try to find a local engineering shop with a hydraulic press.

I assume you've taken the damper off and put it in a vice rather than trying to hit it while it's bolted to the car?

For others reading this thread - this top pivot mount really IS best left in the damper arm - it's a real menace to remove - and most suppliers of 'reconditioned' dampers will provide and accept exchange dampers with the pin still in place. I think extreme heating will be called for now - glowing bright red probably - to get this thing removed.

found a bigger hammer and hit it harder problem solved

Hope you didn't bend the arm - or damage the internals of the damper.
