Has anyone fitted a Ford 1600 crossflow engine and gearbox to their Minor,if so are there any tips to pass on and what is the performance like?

I've not done it but I would imagine the extra weight of the engine would outweigh the small power increase you would gain over fitting something like an A series 1275. You can get 80 bhp out of a 1275 without too much effort......

One of our customers has done this swap to great effect. A few Burton add ons and its producing 120bhp, with excellent torque. Don't worry about the weight difference.

I had "assumed" the original question was based around a standard engine - not one with many hundreds of pounds spent on it  Of course if you have an open cheque book things are very different

Its still a X flow, fits easily and in std form will beat any A series lump on cost as it fits straight onto the type 9, 5 speed.
What are yo lot like ahh !!! :D :D

I don't think it did Dan. The customer is willing to share the drawings for all mounts etc. :D

My old pickup ran a 1600 cross flow no probs.

Well the only issues I had with it was from the exhaust.
