Importing to France

I am planning to purchase a convertible to leave in France and intend importing and re-registering the car. Apparently the main action I need to take is to change the headlights - does anyone know if this is simply done? Anything else I need to know (apart from all the administration involved:-)? Also, is there a club branch in France?
Many thanks
Maurice

Hello Maurice,
Holden Vintage and Classic sell L.H. drive headlight units (Halogen only I think.)
I understand that Classics don't need an MOT and may have low tax, but there are some restictions on how far you can drive, something like only into neighbouring departments? Worth checking out?

Thanks for speedy and helpful reply Alec - I'll check that out - I doubt I'd be travelling too far anyway

Maurice, email
Liz.saxon@mmoc.org.uk in our Derby Office and she will be able to give you the address of our MMOC contact in France.
I believe her name is Mary Hall.

Mary occasionally posts here (user name woodiesenfrance). The French club can be contacted at:
morisminorsfrance@neuf.fr
(and it is spelt like not - not an error)
