Hmm - increases the effort you put in with the pedals by 50 times ! So - perpetual motion machine - almost. But you can see what he really means - the pedalling is the means of increasing the power output from the battery - until it runs flat!
I certainly wish I could develop a simple KERS system for my bike - store the energy when going downhill and pump it back into the wheels when going up - instead of flogging my poor old legs to death!

That's quite easy to solve just get yourself a tandem and use the WIFE system for the hilly bits
