Quick question

Post by ani »

What's the difference between wood stopper and wood filler. Person in the shop told me that stopper was only for little holes and can't be stained - was she correct?

Wood stopper is for filling very small areas such as cracks in floorboards. Filler is for larger areas that require filling.

Best thing to do is read the instructions as to suitability as often produscs are not always what they seem.
What is it exactly are you trying to do and then hopefully Dennis will advise you as he is our expert on all things wooden....................
Cheers

Hi Kevin, I'm going to attempt a few minor repairs to the woodwork - most of it is in really good condition. As you suggest I'm going to wait for Dennis to have a look. The reason for my question was purely interest because I saw wood stopper on the shelf with wood filler and wondered what it was! I've now got myself a nice piece of season Ash, courtesy of Steve, which will be better than filler anyway.

Cheers! Oh and the other reason for asking the question in the first place is because the print on the tins is so so so tiny I couldn't read a word!!!!! and I don't have a serious eyesight problem
