I have bought some rear lights for my minor 1000 saloon which incorporate the indicator, these to replace the rear light without the flasher so I can also remove seperate flasher attached to the bumper, I have seen these fitted to the rear wing on other 1000's, could someone tell me how or the best way to attach to the rear wing, many thanks in anticipation.

Locate them in the correct position and drill the mounting bolt holes in the correct places. The lights are bigger than the early ones so should cover any unwanted holes.

the early lights do look nice on an early car though...
but it's your car not mine!

Keep the early ones! They look sooooo much nicer than the ones on the late cars!

I'am in two minds which to use but I can't stand the little square indicators under the bumper that have been fitted.

Do what I did and put a relay in the rear brake light circuit using the trafficator feed to switch it, so the rear brake light flashes when indicating and put a 5/21 watt bulb holder in the front sidelights for the indicators at the front. I've had this system on my series II for about 18 months with no problems with other drivers including French!

Replace them with motorcycle ones
Which is what I've done - although the chrome ones would have been nicer.

...or a pair of period reversing lights, fitted with amber 21W bulbs. NOS Lucas L494 are fetching daft prices on ebay at the moment, but there are similar Wipacs. I was unimpressed with the new lamps (not the Lucas copies) from s-v-c, but ymmv.

I'm very much in favour of originality, but I think amber rear indicators are worth making an exception for, particularly if you can choose appropriate ones.
