Morris Minor Owners Club

I have a little brass bit and a springsits in one end.
I beleive this stops the gearstick rattling.
Where do I fit it and is it easy to do?
Had a quick look but not sure how it stays in.

There should also be a rubber o ring in a groove on the selector ball. This also helps to stop the rattle
