Finally got Milly MOT'ed yesterday.

After a last minute brake imbalance issue I ended up leaving the job to my local garages semi-retired Boss who did his apprenticship on Minors in 1955. As you can imagine I've been regailed with all sorts of information not least the huge list of things that are not standard on Milly :D

Now just need to get the Tax sorted out but as shes been off the road for about 18 years I need to go and get the V5C changed to Historic vehicle status.

Anyone else done this recently and know what you need to take to the DVLA? I assume MOT, insurance and the V5C are enough?

For those who don't know Milly.

1959 2 door Smoke grey

1098 engine

Wolesley 9" drums at front

Will eventually sort out a few other little upgrades but most aimed at economy rather than power.

Just a shame I missed the National

He ho any suggestions for other south coast rallies this summer?

Unfortunatly working all next weekend. But just the kind of really close Rally that would have been a good starter in an untried car. :D

Excellent news mate! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
I hope you get the tax sorted ok so we may see her at SADMOG? 8) 8)

Changing the taxation class is easy all you have to do is tax it as you normally would but at your DVLA local office and they will send off your V5c and sort it for you and give you your disc there and then!

Paul, I know there is going to be a Rally in Kingsley (off the A325 towards Alton) August I believe and its something to do with Phylis Tuckwell Hospice. May not be exclusively Minors but certainly a nice local one for you. I'll be going and maybe Charlie with the convertible. I'll update when I've got the details.

It will be good to see her back on the road again! If you just wanted a run out in her with a wealth of spares at the destination "just incase" then you know where to run her too!
I'm sure someone we both know will be chuffed to see her again! :D 8)

(if anything did go wrong then she would be recovered pretty promptly too! )

well minors are so reliable, i will have no hesitation in doing that sort of mileage

before i got my car it had not done any mileage for about 5 years, and now i have used it every day, and touchwood all is fine

go for it, you have to do some mileage you know

You need to head down to Portsmouth with your patient hat on with your V5 (original) Insurance document and MOT cert and thats it

Just make sure you bring her to SADMOG 8)

Paul, I've got time on my side. If you want to check with DVLA that someone can do this on your behalf I'll gladly pop down there myself. After all, I know the score, where it is and more importantly, where to park!

Of course she'll be along to Sadmog soon (not this week though :( )

And yes Carlo she definatly needs to do the run to see your Dad. if only to see the Barn she lived in :)

OOh Pete, I'll try them on Monday and see if they'll play ball.
Sandy might have chance to go down this week too but I know I won't till at least wednesday week.

What a lovely car. It looks very homely. :)

Oh, what do you have in mind?
As a poor student looking for a car I'm looking for ways to make Moggy ownership that tiny bit cheaper!
