Decided to take Alfie for his monthly run so that nothing seizes up while finding the time/inclination/better weather/run out of excuses to sort the engine out, thought to myself there seems rather a lot of condensation in here aw-well not having been used in all the recent rain so nothing to worry about, on reaching for the seat belt (lap & diagonal type) hey this feels wet so on feeling the carpet (new in the summer) behind the driver seat is quite wet

though it was all OK a fortnight ago, so removed the carpet and leave to drip dry on the fence, pulled the rear seat cushion out and could see slight traces of dampness then noticed that it was damp/wet on the corner where the seat rests, so decided to take the rear seat backrest out, one wingnut loosed off nicely the other a real struggle and eventually snaps off

so after removing the backrest more is revealed as staining/dampness can be see to the rear of the armrest covering that is hidden by the backrest, so now I must fix the backrest (should be fun removing the broken stud) before removing some trim to see if I can pinpoint it exactly as the rubber does not look to bad just a bit faded with no splits.
Has anyone done the rear side rubbers before because nothing in my manuals says which way the glass has to come out, I know the rear one comes inward the opposite of the front screen.
The worst thing is I have no signs of water stain on the rear parcel shelf or the adjacent trim that are the usual signs of rear leaks, but there must be a reasonable leak

as 4 hours later the carpet is only just stopping the dripping and has moved from the fence to the stepladder.
