Is it possible to get the original colour for painting the heater console?mine is looking a bit shabby. I suppose any dark greyish colour would do though. Also sponging the paint on would be ok?

Thanks for that link, very useful as I am also going to recover my seats, if the covers ever arrive.

Just tried to get the front panel off the heater. I've undone the screws but it still seems to attached somehow at the top behind the dash... any advice?

There's a third screw at the top behind the edge of the dash panel. Someone will no doubt be along soon with a handy hint for removing it :D

Sorry if I am being daft but how am I supposed to undo the top screw when it's behind the dash? I can see the screw but no way of getting a screwdriver to it.

On mine, I gave up trying to unscrew it and just gave it a good tug and it came out. However I'm sure there's a 'proper' way of removing it so hopefully someone will let you know.

Did you manage to find some of the original style covers in the end then? or are you now going for duo-tone?

I found some from ESM - 62-64 Plain One Colour Front Seat Cover - sounds like that should be right. I ordered the covers and new padding, clips etc... All the padding arrived and just a note to say the covers will follow but that was about a week ago. Hopefully I won't get an email saying that they can't be supplied. I thought about duo-tone covers but then I would have to change my whole interior which would be far too expensive for me.

Well the '62-64 one colour' covers will certainly be more interesting as there don't seem to be many left now.
Good luck.
