forgetful server again

Site seems to be 'forgetting' me again, as it did a few weeks back for me and plenty others, I think the solution then was some kind of reboot?

Demands user name and password several times a day despite ticking the 'remember me' box.

If you use the 'Register' button first, then 'log in' it seems to remember you better.

Yes I remember trying that last time, its memory seems to decay over time.

There is nothing needing rebooting, it's simply the system checking who you are - done randomly - unfortunate for you I agree. Suggest you login using the Register left hand side of screen. As Louise says this seems to have a longer "memory" than the one at the top of the screen. I have days when it does it to me several times then goes for weeks without another check.
