Early add-on water pump for series MM

Via the ads in Minor Matters I've managed to obtain an early external water pump of the type that clamps to the dynamo and is operate by a wheel that sits on top of the fan belt. The name "Heath Robinson" springs to mind, but I'd like to rig it up on my MM which despite being a late one has an earlier motor fitted with no water pump - so there's nothing to run the heater which still lurks cold and quiet inside the car. Meanwhile I get cold and the windows mist up in the winter.

Accepting that this pump is not going to contribute much to global warming, can anyone advise/post a photo or diagram of how it would have originally been plumbed up? The car as it is does not have a tap or blanking plug on the head, incidentally. I have an engineering background and access to machine tools so feel free to get technical!
