Late Saloon

Post by COMMERCIALMAN »

Hi All, Ive just acquired a 1971 Almond Green saloon which was registered on the 16/3/71. I know production finished on the saloon in Nov70. Has anyone got a saloon registered later than this?

I wonder why it was not registered before that. When was it built?
I met the owner of a K reg. converted Minor on Monday. According to the chassis no. it was built Oct. '68
John Frye owns an R reg Series II. It was imported from South Africa.

That was my fourteenth birthday! How weird! I know exactly what I was doing the day your car was registered!

I assume Mike it must have stood around a dealership for quite a while and probably sold for alot less than list price. By 1971 a new Morris Minor was probably not on many customers shopping list. Does the last saloon produced still exist? I believe it was a Trafalgar blue car. I know that the car at last years national was made from new parts left over from the factory but in my eyes that doesnt count.

Why has this post been moved it isnt a "do you know" more of a "have you got" and there are plenty of those on the general discussions section.

What a saloon or your traveller? From the chassis number it is around the last 7000 made so was sitting around somewhere for even more time than first thought. They must have really struggled to sell the last cars.
