The ignition switch is in the centre of the dash underneath the
speedo, it is only a switch, it does not operate the starter,that
is operated by the right hand knob which pulls on a cable and
closes the starter switch.

Hmm yep, much nicer the pull start setup... I was most disapointed buying a 68 to find out that they were alll on the key & had done away with the pull!
