M.O.T Why not try one?

Having just come back from the Vendee I thought I would try and share what taking a Minor abroad is like.
I can understand peoples reservations at taking their precious abroad but the reality is somewhat different from how it can sometimes be perceived.
Although you drive on an "unfamiliar" side of the road these days on the whole European drivers are a lot more patient than over here.
The shear delight on peoples faces as they pass on the autoroute often with a goodwill toot or waving makes for added pleasure.
The roads even down to country lanes tend to be smooth and pothole free.
The density of traffic is so much less than in the U.K.
The pace of life is slower and if you choose to drive during the "Cheese Hour" (12-00-14-00)you can find yourself having minor roads to yourself.
If you are looking for a very pleasant experience with like-minded people then I can highly recommend a Morris motoring holiday.
As one of my friends put it "you wouldn't get this much attention in an Aston Martin".
Happy minoring!
Image
Well said, Longdog, must give MOT more forum time when the 2010 venue is announced in the Autumn.
Food costs in France are, at present, similar to that in UK; all we need is a stronger pound against the Euro to give a very reasonably priced tour.

The Republic of Ireland is fun too, and they even drive on the correct side of the road (usually). :D

I seem to recall trying to drum up support for this one in the past. Glad you enjoyed it.

I'd love to do one at some point. Having not driven much so being very inexperienced I'm just going to do the UK one for this year, get use to the idea of long distance driving before trying it on the wrong side of the road! :o
I'll definitely do one in the next few years anyway..
