A local tyre fitter says he can get me a full set (spare as well) of radial tyres for Betsy. As far as the type is concerned, I think the number 155 came into it - does that make sense?
He reckons to charge me in the region of £150 for the lot. Does that sound reasonable to you experienced Minor owners?

Well the correct size for a standard rim is 145 but a 155 will fit, and £150 for 5 fitted with balancing and valves sounds a bargain to me what make are the tyres.

Can I bet they will be Nankangs? Sounds about the right price but not the best tyres in the world... Ok for "normal" Minor motoring but will be inadequate if compared to Bridgestones - These are a lot more expensive though so pay your money and take your choice

I'll go for Bridgestones every time. Don't skimp on tyres, they are the only thing that connects your car with the road!

If you want the car to look "standard" go for Bridgestones

Can you still get Bridgestones? Firestones and Goodyears are no longer available.
I don't like Nankangs but I've heard that Toyos are OK.
155 x 14 tyres are perfectly OK

Yes. I bought a new set earlier this year. I hope they don't discontinue them because they're very good.
