Fan Belt problem

Post by Geraldine »

The fanbelt looks quite new, and seems quite tight enough, but has a noticeable wobble, and makes a squeaking noise when going round. Wondered if it could be that it was on the car unused for a long time so went out of shape? The previous owner restored the car but didn't drive it, so am finding out a few little problems at the moment, sorry for all the questions!

Buit yes - th belt can take the shape of the pulleys if standing for a long long time. Would expect it to either settle in quickly - or snap. Make sure you have a spare - in fact - best get a new one, fit it - and keep this old one for spare. They sit nicely inside the spare wheel.
