I'm waiting at my son's for the delivery of Betsy Blue from Sunderland - they're late! Grrr!

Anyway, I pm'd or e-mailed katiekat ages ago to ask if Betsy had an unleaded head. She must have not seen the message, but I don't remember an answer.

I don't suppose any of you, who watched katiekat's resto of Bertie/Betsy, would know if there's an unleaded head?

If not, should I add the leaded additive (if I can find some) or not? Which is worse, Uttoxeter to Dolgellau with unleaded head and leaded additive or the same journey with unleaded fuel and a non-adapted head?

I have an hour to either get an answer from katie or for one of you to share the benefit of your wisdom!

Don't panic - there was a long thread with KK at the time - there is NO need for either an 'unleaded' head - or any additive ! Just check the valve gaps from time to time and rest them if required - set 15thou on the exhausts for that little bit of extra security.

So a journey of about 110 mile today, and another of 100 miles on Saturday to get back to Pembs, would be Ok without doing anything other than sticking petrol in it then?

For your own peace of mind check the oil and water and tyre pressures before you set off and remember to enjoy it

Take a gallon container of water and a can of oil, and a tool kit. You may not need the oil and water but its best to be on the safe side.

And an AA card with home recovery - unless it's already included with your classic insurance ? RH include roadside assist and recovery in the very reasonably priced deal!
