Stupid question: what do you Brits call a control arm bushin

Hey, at least I know that a hood is a "bonnet".
Need a set of control arm bushings for my '61 pickup and not finding them with this search term.

I think you are looking for a track rod end.
Dont worry we call a it a bonnet here in NZ

Is it the rubber bushes for the tie-rods - where they run forward from the lower suspension arms to the bracket on the front of the chassis legs ?

No, It's the lower suspension arm inner bushes! Or eye bolt bushes.

A control arm can be a location device or the 'wishbone' itself, but its either the tie bar or the lower suspension arm.

I figured that what we call a "tie rod end", is a track rod end.
I need a couple of those, but was informed by my alignment guy that the control arm bushings also needed replacing.
Control arms are usually an upper and a lower.
Has to be the lower suspension arm inner bushes (or bushings, as we say).
I'll probably just get all the rubber for the front.

BTW- Just had a one-wire alternator installed for the Datsun motor in my moggy. Regulator is attached to the alternator, bypassing the Morris setup.
I was having charging issues after disconnecting wires to my regulator (after a diagram given to me up here).

If you look at this
LINK you'll see that the control arm is what we call the WISHBONE. So the bushings will either be the eyebolt bush or the lower trunnion bushes I guess.
This is the minor set up you could show the mechanic this pic and ask what needs replacing.

I'm going to be a pedant today too.
A wishbone is usually triangular and has a separate pair of inner mountings on the chassis and one outer for the suspension upright.
On a Minor this function is performed by the lower suspension arm and the tie rod.
A lower suspension arm can also be referred to as a track control arm and on some cars the tie rod's function is performed by an anti-roll bar.

Thanks for that post. As a former owner of a couple Fiat 124s, I related well to that link
Since rubber is cheap, better to replace everything up front.
Even though I'm a veteran (many years back) of a couple Triumphs (GT6 and Spitfire) and an Austin America, the terminology still throws me.
Much easier than learning all the French terms for parts on my old Renault. (Like "caoutchouc" for rubber) Thanks all. This group rocks.
