I keep trying to think of alternative things to do to speed up the trav a bit (not just your usual 1275 lump)
Was wondering if anyone has ever fitted a ford V6 lump, a-la ebay item 110390203137
I've long fancied the idea of a V6

Ive run a car with an Essex V6 , very heavy but truck loads of torque (enough to make mincemeat of the attached driveline

) that engine looks like the siamesed port cologne V6 a lot less torque but a bit more bhp

this would be a much better engine than the ford boat anchor

Just have to make it fit

Alfa 75
front engine rear gearbox ...brilliant
all nearly Fiats nowadays

(nearly)
but that's essentially the same engine. I'm sure some kind of adaptor plate could be made although full ignition /fuel injection would be the only way in anything built after a 164

Have you researched the Buick 3.8L v6? Theres TONS of aftermarket for that motor and its extremely compact.

the old essex was the better one to put in and 3 ltr too. but having run one for 10 years it was the weight that made me change far to heavy for a morris this was mine before the cab was put on<br>

Yeah, my pickup came with an Essex V4 and it's a heavy beast of a motor ... I'd go for something more modern & lighter.

I had an Essex 3ltr in a SIII SWB Landy, MY God you would not believe how heavy that engine was!! It took 3 of us to carry it and that was a struggle!!
But Hell did it go well!!

if you want power from the german block use the 2.8, the heads will have to be from mustang II and using the intake mainfold with a plate to take a 38 or 40 dgas ( tang heads are not twined) also you will need alloy timing wheels otherwise you will rip the felt ones apart,

v6
