As I am due to overhaul mine are there any suggestions for making the job easier or pitfalls to avoid.

Dunno Kevin - i've had the parts in stock for about 6 years - and yet to feel brave enough to fit them ! But I think take a few pics before starting - and do one part at a time may be the way forward ?

Fiddly job. Soak everything really well with plus gas or similar. As soon as you get the new bronze bushes soak them in clean engine oil until you need them.Ive only ever done this job with the gearbox and mastercylinder out, this obviously gives you a lot more room to get at them. I think if you took off the gearbox mountings you would have enough space to move it over. Once you have the old shaft out knock the old bronze bushes out with a chisel. Dont forget theres also bushes in the brake pedal and you may need to adjust the mastercylinder rod clearance only reassembled.

It make a big difference to the pedals, no more sticking when you brake and clutch together, sometimes also helps the brakes.

its not that bad a job really

just be methodical, the old bushes are better knocked out with a drift, or socket, make sure the new ones are drifted in square as well,

try to reuse the clutch pedal assembly as some of the new ones are very badly machined

worst bit is getting the brake return spring back on

The clutch/brake rod in the MM is flopping about all over the place. I have the bushes and I would have replaced them years ago if I could get the cotter out of the clutch pedal!!!!!!
