Leaf Spring Jacking Kit

My brother was telling me about a kit you can buy that will jack up the leaf springs and give them a bit more life.
As anybody heard of these kits and if so where can you get them?

Nope he is sure it is a kit that will jack up the springs and give weak springs a new lease of life

My old MG has them
They bolt on and assist the existing springs essentially a bit of extra spring!!
Dont know where you get them though

Well now I know the kits actually exist I will start searching the internet for them as my springs could do with a bit more spring

Weren't they the old rubber 'doughnuts' that used to be advertised in car magazines? A bit like a squashier bump-stop that was pretty much always slightly in compression

To be honest I don't really know what I'm looking for so I will leave it to my brother to search the internet for them.
Unless anyone on here can tell me where to get them

Simplest move - fit longer shackle plates on the rear mount. Easy to make - flat bar 5/16" thick - drill holes. If you make them 1" longer than standard - it lifts the car by 1/2". I would suggest that 2" longer (ie 1" lift) should be the limit!

I think 'spring assistors' were developed for vehicles used for towing

they are like an additional spring which bolts up under the bottom leaf. They are a last resort,and they make the car very hard and bouncy on the rear they were fitted to mine when i got it,took them off to loosen up the rear and found that the rear shackle was now hitting the chassis so eventually fitted new springs.I think I threw them out but will have a look in the shed,Yours for the postage if I still have them. But you would be better just paying the extra and fitting a pair of new springs.Pair of springs is about £60,plus a bit for new bolts.These assistors,if you can find them are probably £40. £50 .
