Indicator stalk

Post by katiekat »

Hello everyone!

The indicator stalk on my 1963 moggie won't stay down when turning right. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's very frustrating! Will I need a new stalk?

Thanks very much!

Maybe you just need to adjust it - to get at it involves removing the shroud and possibly the steering wheel.

I believe there is a peg on the steering column which cancels the indicators. This needs to be correctly aligned. Ref workshop manual P. JJ3/4.
I never did like self cancelling indicators

If you are unlucky, the metal tab actuator in the switch has bent out of shape, mine had! But faced with a price of £45 for a new switch, I found it quite easy to dismantle the switch and re-shape the tabs!
