Recondidtioned engine number

Post by chrisd87 »

I picked up a short engine off ebay the other week, as it was local and going for a quid! The engine itself is seized and probably in need of a rebuild, but I noticed that the engine number is not standard. The engine is painted gold so I assume it's been reconditioned in the past, possibly by BMC as a gold seal unit. Does this engine number confirm it's a gold seal unit, and/or what size the bores and crank are at?

Thanks.
