While I'm in the mood for asking questions...
Are there any benefits on having a 1098 head on a 948 block....
I recently popped my head gasket and on inspection found a crack in the head. So I put one from a 1098 on it. Should I be looking to change it back or not bother?

The 1098 head - 12G202 - has bigger inlet valves and much better flowing of the inlet passages. However -it has a bigger combustion chamber and so unless you had the head skimmed by ~ 60 thou - your compession ration (and therefore engine efficiency and economey) will be very low indeed. With the skimming - it's probably worth about 4 bhp on the otherwise standard 948 engine.
