Two-Pack paint?

Post by Ondergard »

I've been reading what people have written about re-spraying, and very daunting it is too, especially the health hazards discussed. The things is, I'm lacking some basic knowledge.

What is two-pack paint, and why is it called that? Why is it so dangerous?

As far as I know the activator contains isocyanates which are poisonous. You mix together the paint and activator which come in separate packs, hence the name two pack.

According to most forum members it is more dangerous than nuclear weapons!

It also gives a horrible 'artificially glossy' finish to the car - not at all like a good cellulose finish ! And yes - for the sprayer - it IS much more likely to kill them than a nuclear weapon!!
