Hi,

I've been skirting around on a few threads for about a week now and thought it best if I introduced myself.

My name is Peter, I’ve been a fan of Morris Minors since I was 6 when my Sister came home in her ‘new car’. It was a ’58 2 door saloon with pigs ears, which I thought were Panda Lights at the time and loved them. She kept the car going for some years and I had asked if she would keep it for me when I was old enough and she gave it to me as a 17th Birthday present.
It was wonderful. Her Husband had upgraded the engine to 1098 and sprayed her Old English White and she kept me going for a couple of years. Then things started to fall off and I progressed onto my Traveller that I pulled out of a barn for £10, took my saloon off the road to restore. When I got around to it the body work disintegrated and had to be taken away. So boxed up all of the little items and started to look for a donor car.
After 5 years of looking I happened across an unmolested 2 door shell without a home, V5 or anything else to its name. Got that and stored it for 7 years until the time was available to me to do the work. So, on my Father’s front lawn, I restored my saloon, pictures are available if required, it took me 5 months and has been worth it. I love the fact that I can get under my car clear of the worry of rust in my eyes. That was 6 years ago now and I’ve managed to pick up another two travellers and an MG YB. The Saloon is showing signs of being sprayed outside in a hurry and needs a nice spray job but is still the only one of the four on the road. The red Traveller, my fiancés car, needs welding to the floor and she wants it purple. The blue Traveller may well be fully up-rated, 1300 engine + disks at the front if I can’t get the 1850 out of a Dolly, before its back on the road. Finally the MG, who’s front suspension was designed by the same man who did the Minor, needs a total rebuild as has been barn stored for 20+ years.

There’s me in a nut shell, I was a National member back when I first had my saloon (around 1990), and have been a member of the East Kent regional club, but since moving to Shropshire I’ve not been part of the scene. This will hopefully change this year.

I already have posted some questions and will post answers to others when I can.

Many thanks and I hope to see some of you around at sometime.

Peter.

Thank you. I had it made for me by my fiancé, Stacy. I gave her the basic idea and let her artistic streak do the rest, I think it has a pleasing effect. They are in age order too.
