Cheap Air Wrench

Post by nigelr2000 »

Went to Makros this morning and got a kit with an air wrench, tyre inflator with gauge, blow gun, 3 sockets (14, 17 & 19mm), several spare adapters to fit other items to the air line and a curly hose in a plastic carry case all for £19.99 + VAT

The make is Fairline which is Makros own and they are made in India. The quality looks pretty good for such a cheap kit.

I will report back when I have used them, I have to wait for a 1/4 BSP male to male adapter for my compressor to arrive as the outlet is a female and so is the hose connector.

I intend to live forever.....so far so good

The hose should be 'male' - to plug into the 'female' compressor ! If it's a 'hammer' gun then that's a very useful weapon. You will unfortunately need an 18mm socket to (more or less) fit the Minor wheel nuts. Be sure to reduce the hammer action when tightening your nuts !!

Very handy piece of kit, but I have only ever used mine for 'undoing'!
Takes far more time getting it all out and going, then a fraction of a second - and its undone!

BMC the hose is male to plug into female connector but the female connector is 1/4 bsp female and the outlet on my second hand compressor with no fittings is also female hence the need for a male to male union  Also noticed the lack of 18mm so I will probably end up buying some percussion (if thats what they are called ?) sockets to suit.
