Seats

Post by katiekat »

Hiya everyone!

I was just wondering if any members had fitted modern car seats in their moggy? I was at the scrapyard today with hundreds of cars and I was trying to figure out which ones might fit.

Metro seats I've heard are possible but has anyone tried any others? I got a new moggy on Sunday and the seats are Kaputt!

There is a lot more choice for a 4 door car. Which of your Minors were you looking to fit them to and what colour is the interior?
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

The blue 2 dr I think....

nothing is a straight bolt in i'm afraid, but saab seats apparently can be made to fit easily.

Subframes are available for metro

I saw a Minor Traveller a while ago that had tan seats, looked like a plasticy sort of stuff, had twisty plastic back angle adjuster things. Like you get on the side of 90s car seats.
Looked really nice and keeping in period of the car very nicely.

The car had a Charles Ware sticker on the back, any ideas what the might have been?

Thanks! Yes, it's for Bertie the blue 2 door. I saw a Vauxhall Omega with lovely seats but I guess they would be too big. Has anyone tried mini seats?

I'm sure Mini seats will fit easily enough, but not much better than Minor seats. MINI seats will be more comfortable - and I know they can be fitted into Minis ! Anything is possible - but there is no direct bolt-in replacement, you will always need some form of modified seat mount subframe.

These seats http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wolseley-1500-Ril ... 7C294%3A50 look like a comfy alternative - and look as though they may be a bolt-in fit! The Wolseley 1500 is basically a Minor floor pan - and the seats look like they fit in the same way as Minor seats - with simple clamps across the front bar.
