Hi there,
It looks like OKW 547 has been off the road for some time, it's details are not on the DVLA computer and the reg hasn't been transfered, the other car seems to have been off the road for 15 years now.
The vehicle details for UWW 467F are:
Date of Liability 01 05 1994
Date of First Registration 09 04 1968
Year of Manufacture Not Available
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1098CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour MAROON
Vehicle Type Approval null
So sadly neither are still on the road but you never know they could lurking unused in a barn somewhere...

Forgive my ignorance but what does date of liability mean, I suppose I am hoping that maybe just maybe someone is a visitor to this site and in the process of restoring either of them and might be able to tell me where they've both been all these years.
If they were scrapped would it say so on dvla website then cheers Simon.

The date of liability is when the last tax disc expired. Unfortunately the system doesn't tell you if the car was scrapped or not, just when it was last taxed.
The car is not on a SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) either which legally it is supposed to be if it is around but not on the road, but it is possible that it is still around somewhere and the owner forgot to declare it SORN.

SORN is not declared on cars that were 'off the road' before SORN was invented! But the reality is - more than likely these two vehicles are long gone.

When was SORN invented? I thought it was 1986, when the DVLA system went computer based.

SORN was introduced from 31st January 1998 so applies to cars that were 'off the road' on or after that date.

Ok, thanks Lou, so OKW 547 could be off the road somewhere and wouldn't have to be on a SORN.

Would be easier I suppose to have another line saying RIP if the DVLA had the V5 returned to them by a scrap yard.

We'd all be put out of our misery then.

Date of Liability 01 05 1994
this was when it was last taxed in England so if it has emmigrated over here then it wouldnt be updated.

I suppose it was a long shot to expect someone to see message and still have either of them in a barn somewhere but I might contact dvla see if they'll tell me whether they were scrapped or not thanks for everyones help.

They might point you in the direction of the V888 form, it'll cost about £2.50 per car for the info.

Not necessarily I went to look at a traveller the other day that had been in a barn since 1983, so this could be in someone's garage or barn.
