You don't say what type of connector you have in at the moment. The correct one for an H4 halogen bulb is a 3 pin push fit. You should be able to get a pair with lengths of cable attached from a motor accessory shop. If not PM me and I will give you a supplier.

ESM seems to have the sealed beam type thaat's what I have at the mom the 3 pin push type what I was worried is that halogens put more power in the wires and damage it! so it's OK to use the standard 3pin push type?

That's OK as long as your wiring is in reasonable condition. Standard halogen bulbs are rated at 60/50W which is not much more than sealed beam units. I hope you bought Wipac units.

Halogens are 55/55 - it's the sealed beams that are 60 watt (or 70 watt if you have the high power ones) . So in fact halogens use slightly LESS current. the wires will be fine.

I just rate the Wipacs as being the best on the market.

I imagine Cibies may be better? But Wipacs are certainly 'ok'. It is worth buying the extra brightness 'white' bulbs (still 55 watt) for halogen lamps. I fitted these to main beam on my road car - and the difference is very noticeable !

There was a pair of Cibie Biodes for sale at the Birmingham Classic Car Show. The price was well into three figures. I was talking about sensible money for the Wipacs.
My H4 bulbs are 60/55W. I have some 130/90W H4s and a couple of 100W H1 spotlight bulbs but I don't think the MM dynamo would keep up with them. They were great for moving cars from the outside lane on the motorway when I had the XJ6. 460W on mainbeam.

More than 55Watt halogen is ILLEGAL in this country, except 'off road'.
While Biodes were magnificent - Cibie did (do?) make excellent normal headlight units.

There used to be Cibie H180s but they had reverse curve lenses which looked wrong on a Minor and I didn't think they were any better than the Wipacs

The Wipac Halogens on Albert are superb. Excellent beam pattern and better than some modern cars I've driven.
