:D :D

I got the driveshaft yesterday so that was good reason to give Herbie (shes called Herbie now because she sounds like a VW beetle for some reason) a crank over and breathe some life after 2 years of waiting.

heres a video and make sure you hit the HQ button otherwise it sounds like crap, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuuArh96VfA

all is well, runs smooth but still needs tweaked to be perfect and i broke the timing light when it hit the alternator fan so cant get that perfect yet.

Well done - you don't need a timing light - just swing the dizzy and settle where you get the smoothest idle. Then check with a road test - if any sign of pinking , retard it slightly, and if NO pinking - advance it slightly until you do get some pinking, then retard slightly. The timing is now perfect for your engine while burning that fuel!

im a bit worried about the dizzy timing. when i broke the timing light it was at about 20° BTDC, and that was as retarded as i could go.

i now have the dizzy set up at 180° so hopefully i can adjust it correctly when i get a timing light tomorrow.

ill be really really [Don't swear or you will be banned - Admin] if the cam is a tooth out!

Doesn't matter about the drive being a tooth out - it's not important. I doubt it will be running 20 BTDC! As I say - just turn the dizzy back and forth slowly by hand while the engine is idling and stop at the smoothest point!
