I am totally stumped. Been at the parents this morning to repair the car, did the head gasket yesterday and the radiator got stabbed in the meantime.

Now on getting the car running, NONE of the bloody lights work aside from the passenger side indicator. I know why the brake light doesn't work - a join in the cable broke.

The lights were all fine until the HG blew and I got Towed home by the RAC. They couildn't get the car on the A frame without taking the rear no plate off and had to cut the wires for the numberplate light.

Oh, and the wipers are staying on no matter what happens at the swtich

Assuming that you have a 1098 Minor, check the in line fuse in the plastic fuse holder. This protects the side light circuit. If the fuse blows again then you have a live wire (red) shorting out on the bodywork somewhere. Also check the two main fuses. Check your feed wire to the light switch (Terminal 4). If you have power there check the wires to the side and tail lights (T1) and to the dip switch (T8)
The wipers are switched on the earth side of the wiper motor so if the black / green wire is shorting out on the bodywork then it will bypass the wiper switch.

I don't think I can. I was the one that cut the wires!

Also I'd rather know what caused it so I can sort it out!

You must have a closing bracket after it. '8' followed by ')' produces a 8)

Sidelight fuse was blown...

I dont know why the other bits wernt working, as Dan had fiddled with the wiring before I got there! I replaced a lot of connections in the back though!
