Hi.
I need a new set of spark plugs but I'm not sure where to get them from.
Do they have a number to identify them so I could go to Halfords?
Thanks for any advice!

One maker is NGK ,the plug reference number is BP6ES
An internet search will bring up suppliers other than Halfords.Any local car spares place should be able to source them ( or an alternative ) for you.
Others may favour another make.

you really need to get yourself on this suppliers site. the shop is probably the best one in my experience for clarity of parts. might be worth getting a whole service kit if you don't know when it was last serviced.
they do next day delivery usually so save your fuel! god i sound like i work for them! just good experiences over the last couple of years!

if you go to halfords for your spark plugs do not get the lead set from them, i have found one or two are too short and have had to go back and change them.

Yes sometimes it is best to stick to the moggy suppliers as you do get the right bit for the car. Prices are pretty good too.

You keep wanting to go to Halfords !! Do you have shares in them ??
You will almost certainly get anything for less money - by NOT going to Hellfrauds! Champion N9Y are the plugs you want - personally I avoid NGK like the plague. BTW - the 'N9Y' may have additional prefix or suffix letters - but good old plain N9Y will be fine if you can get them (on ebay etc).

We also sold NGK plugs at the motorfactors I was working at, sold thousands of them and I never saw one come back.
Your experience was on a B if I remember correctly?

I learnt my lesson and do not use halfords but they are a national chain and I did say not to buy from them not very good if I had shares in them.. when in south wales i use "Bridgend Motor Factors".. not much use to people that do not live in Bridgend but a very friendly bunch of guys how where more than happy to let me look through the back of the store for bits of pipe work when i was looking to plum in my 1275 and a metro rad.

Never had trouble with either although I have found 1275 to prefer NGK's as they seem to wear a bit better.

I have a set of Champion N9YC lying around. Would they be suitable to fit to a 1098cc saloon (1969).
Cheers

Perfect for the job, especially if they are already paid for.
