Flywheel

is the sidevalve flywheel the same as the 948 a series?
i know the clutch is

No. The flywheel is totally different, but as you rightly say the clutch componets are the same. :D

I doubt whether they would be the same. I would expect that the crankshaft bolt spacing could be different and the flywheel diameter. Comparing the workshop manual diagrams, the shape of the flywheels on the crankshaft side is different.
I do not have a 948 flywheel to compare so I cannot give a definate answer.

blast, had my eye on an aquaplane alloy flywheel for the a series.
shame, as i love period modifications
