Hi,
Anyone else noticed the number of Pick-ups appearing on these pages lately - Excellent!

That looks "So Cool" a "soft top pickup" !!!! Is it going to stay like that? or does it have to have the roof for strength?

The sills and door posts have been re-inforced and the original roof will be going back on as a 2-piece hard-top!

Hi Matt,
Toyota Celica axle on a home-built 5-link rear (my own disc-brake conversion too!)
Home-built adjustable twin-wishbone with Ford up-rights on the front.
Coil-over shockers all round.

can I just say WOW It's exactly my dream pick-up! hoping to do the convertible thing on mine too but my mechanic is afraid of structural strength!

when you say Ford uprights like Cortina's you mean?
what geabrox have you got if you mind asking? as with my cosworth project the gearbox is a major headache as it's going to far back!

that is one hell of a pickup, how long have you been working on it to get to this stage? and what condition was it in when you first got it?

Hi Frank,
Uprights are modified Ford Sierra units
Gearbox is a Borg Warner 65 Auto.

Hi David,
I bought it off E-bay about 5 years ago, in standard form, and drove it straight to the MMOC Nationals at Donnington!
It was sold to me as re-built and re-sprayed but within a few months I had replaced both sills, one doorpost and one front inner wing!
The chassis was no better so I built my own!!
The thing is that the previous owner had payed a professional for all this work to be done and they had just resprayed it and hid the rest!
It has been off the road for about 3 years but I have spent much of that time getting the convertible finished.

thanks for your reply!! I might as well go for the sierra uprights I've been offered then!
