My 'Club' postings

I have been advised that my club postings have been regarded as being negative, and that complaints have been received about them (not by me).

I would like to assure everyone that this was not my intention, indeed they have always been made with the MMOC's best interests in mind. I still believe strongly in our club.

I have now agreed not to post matters relating to the club to avoid such misunderstanding.

If anyone has any comments to make in respect of this posting, please send them to me by email at w.hewlettatbtinternet.com

Thank you.

Maybe, if the clubs lines of 'communication ' were as they should be, you would not need to make the comments that you have felt necessary.
I'm sure that anything that you have expressed on this forum has also been sent to the MMOC through the proper channels.
Healthy debate should be encouraged in my view. :D

Hit the nail on the head there!

T&C no 10. The messageboard is not a forum for complaint!

Debate is fine, but complaints should be directed to the appropriate people.

I'd have thought that as the forum is the most vocal and up to the minute sounding of what the MMOC is all about, then 'free' discussion whether it be a complaint or not should be encouraged.
This can help form future policies that members of the forum can then take on to Committee level using the current 'proper channels'
So long as MMOC members are not named ,in the same way as traders are not, then personally why are the forum contributors denied a basic right of 'semi' free speach. I don't think that Bill or any other member have castigated or slandered the MMOC as its in no ones interests to do so.
I'm not sure how many complaints have been received against Bills posts and from my point of view I can see no reason for any as its plain to see that clearly some 'officials' of the club who write on here, give as good as they get.
As I have said on numerous occasions , communication needs to be improved between this forum and the Committee or an elected spokesperson of the committee, otherwise the state of play that currently exists simply exagerates the divide.

As we've already discussed quite a few times, just because a complaint is about the MMOC doesn't automatically make it appropriate or positive, in the same way as if someone had complained about your business or any other Trader it is not automatically unfair and innapropriate.
The rules protect the MMOC the same way they protect your business. Allowing any genuine complaints to be placed directly (if they exist) rather than rumoured and whispered is a much better process - and allows the forum to run - albeit only as the most helpful Web forum in the world*

As of the last AGM, not one person has asked to relax the T&C's on the forum... so without anyone who disagrees taking appropriate steps to ask for change, it won't happen.

* possibly ;-)

I think a lot of us have, Dan. I assumed that if anything was remotely suspect it was taken care of by our moderators.

As I have said, I will no longer mention the club here on the forum. All I will say in answer to some of the comments made is, that I do not think I have made any complaints on here about individuals, and that all of the points/suggestions I have made here have also been directed through the proper channels.

Well it would seem that Bill has always stated that he has contacted the MMOC committee through the correct channels yet seems to never receive a reply.
I think we have to seperate a business contract or service from a 'club' which is in essence 'all of us' and not just the elected representatives. Its important that we can speak about how 'our' club is run on this forum, and if this was allowed then it might encourage more folk to attend the AGM in the belief that they actually have a voice in their own 'club'
