Van door pulls

Does anyone know the correct mounting(s) for the interior leather door pulls on a van?

I ordered two new door pulls and received two strips of leather! No fixings, brackets or anything.

Problem is that they go through the door card and not screw on top of it like a saloon, so I just wondered what the correct mounting procedure was as there does not seem to be room underneath the card for a 'saloon type' (double up and rivet to a plate) fixing.

Pictures would be nice too if anyone has any?

Thanks. :D

Hi Cam,

They are quite different from the normal minor door pulls.

I replaced mine some time ago with the saloon type, but I do remember that the leather pull had a steel end/ cleat that you then bolted through directly to into the door, I'm pretty sure the position is different from the saloon as well. the panel itself has a brass insert at slot plate through which the pull passes.

I should still have my original pull around I will try to find it later.

Gary.

My truck came with one door card but not door pull. I remember the brass trimmed slot about 4 inches from the top of the card but I don't recall any holes in the inside of the door to mount to.

yes there is a small plate that fixes to the door and the door pull goes behind that and is screwed to the door itself

originally they were straight and you fold them your self and make the holes in the door pull

can not remember the distances

of course gpo and mail vans had the metal D handle
