I have a 1275cc engine fitted and wondered if anyone was aware of a minor running an automatic gearbox and if so what type?

There are people running around with 1275 autos using the marina automatic gearbox

And the chance of finding one of those is almost as good as finding a flying pig unfortunately

Actually I need to investigate further but the Ital BW65 I have surprised me in that the backplate is EXACTLY the same as a standard Marina / Ital item.
If, as I assume, the Marina / Ital gearbox is basically a Triumph item then in theory a Dolomite 1500 autobox might be a direct fit.
Luck has it that I've also a 1500 Dolomite BW65 as well as the Ital unit so will check them out "side by side" idc.
The torque converter looks the same but obviously the flexiplate to crank mounting hole PCD is different - but solvable.

As I've said before if anyone wants an auto Minor they are better off sourcing a MKII Escort Kent engine and C3 autobox as they are far more common. Auto Escorts have a bigger tunnel than standard Escorts so are popular for building specials / rally cars with the original engine & autobox often being sold a lot cheaper then you'd pay for a 1275 & Ital box.
