Hi all I am thinking about fitting an Eaton supercharger to my 1275 and have a few questions for anybody who has gone down this route. What HP can I expect?Who are you insured with/how much?Reliability?Does the cross brace have to come off the bonnet for clearance?Suck through or blow through?Head Gasket reliability with decompression plate? What ratio drive to supercharger/psi boost? Thanks, Andy.

Or better still V Max Scart, the Jonspeed kit is a bad copy of theirs and in my view poorly executed.

Common enough conversion on Minis these days. GAS on here has Eaton on his Traveller. All kits I know of are 'suck through'. Picky on here did try a 'blow through' conversion but didn't have much luck with it - to say the least!

Vmaxscart looks a good bet I particularly like the stabilizer between charger and head to reduce incidence of metal fatigue.

Cant fault the idea of sticking a blower on.
My moggy has done nearly 3000 miles now with one on. I do have some info on carb needles, and pulley diameters for different boost psi.
Decomp plate is ok . Nobody likes them but mine has been no problem. I also have lcv ital pistons which help.
I will soon be going all propper though with a propper built bottom end featuring forged pistons for the right comp ratio.
If you are looking for novelty with sensible boost and power it is easy and cheap.
If you are looking for bigger figures and serious boost and performance like I am then it gets a bit more envolved and expensive.
If you go all in at 1293cc, 8:1 comp, ported head and about 10psi 140 to 150bhp is poss, with lots of midrange torque.
Mine is currently about 120bhp and goes like stink from 2500rpm.
0 to 60 on a gps is low 7's and top speed is VERY illegal.
All of mine is homebrewed, no kits envolved here, and I do agree that the jonspeed bits are poor copies of other peoples work.
Go on go for it, it would be nice to know their are more supercharged minors actually on the road.

Thanks for the encouragement, can you tell me who you insure with and how much please as I think that is all that is holding me back at the mo.Some pictures of your setup would be great.(Don't want much do I).Am pleased to hear you kept hold of yours though in the end.Cheers, Andy.

as for insurance: I don't have to because I am a motor trader, so can't comment.

Nice job, your performance figures are amazing.I used to run a Shorrocks equipped Mog but it never had that sort of grunt. Thanks again for info, Andy

it probably didn't run 10psi though!
