Moggies Fitted with Hard-top Pics - Anyone?

Post by BigDawgV8 »

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has ever fitted a hard-top to a Minor convertible and if so - any pics??

Might be of interest!

Cheers

Martin :D

Yep,

The 'interesting' drive back from Brooklands has spurred me into action!

Of you of course trying to drive + umbrella/bath hat etc! :D Perhaps you should modify a saloon next time but leave the roof on.

Hard Tops for Convertibles

Post by Ian46 »

Back on topic.

I have a Morris Minor book published by Autocar that contains reproduced news articles, road test etc., and in it are a couple of articles from the early fifties showing after market convertible accesories for the MM Series Minor.

Sorry for the poor photo quality but the images in the book are themselves reproduction.

The article at the top of the page shows how a Lowlight Tourer can be changed to a coupe using the Jarvis conversion, made by Jarvis & Sons, London SW 19. (now that has got to be rare). Cost £21-00.

The second article below shows the hard top 'for those who have taken delivery of a Morris Minor Tourer although they would have preferred a saloon' (Priceless!) Made by Airflow Streamlines Ltd., in Northampton. The roof is made from heavy guage aluminium sprayed to match the rest of the car with the interior finished in fawn suede material. Cost £85-00.
