5 speed gearbox

Post by Morrisito »

Hey Folks...

I've got a standard 2 door morris - 1971 - 1098cc

I wanna drive to Greece in it this summer but don't like the idea of doing it with my trusty 4 speeds.

I'm also pretty keen to change the axles for stronger ones

What's the best thing to do? Any ideas?

Cheers en

If you're going to drive to Greece, it's simple. Keep it standard.
That way you'll get there!

5 speed box conversions are ~ £1000. Why would you want 'stronger axles' ? The rear axle is plenty strong enough for a mildly modified engine - and there is no 'front axle' as such. I agree with les- keep it standrad - just make sure it's all in tip top condition!
