Post by toginthemog »

does anyone know who owns this MM it was found in a farm yard in surrey about 12 years ago and rebuilt by my uncle this would be a first class rebuild as that is what he was like it sat in his garage for a number of years and was sold to a dealer /auction house somewhere London area
Ita a 53 and looking on DVLC is still being used The reason I ask is on my Brooklands trip down south I called in to my late uncle,s and my cousin has come across all the pictures of the rebuild and is prepared to pass them on to the owner its light grey reg RBH764 if anyone knows or bumps into it at a show PM me and I will arrange it all
Image
The MMOC will have a record of the registration numbers of members cars. It would be good if these were all on a database so that the owner of a particular car could be easily identified but I'm not sure if they have this facility :-? It might be worth contacting them directly to see if they can help. Or you could put a request out via Minor Matters. It would be good to reunite the car with some of it's history.

I think the Club would fall foul of the wretched Data Protection Act if it were to put that info on this site. I think an enquiry in MM might be the best route.

I'm not suggesting for one minute that the club put the information on this site, merely that they could contact the owner to advise that someone is trying to contact them to give them information relating to their car. It would then be up to the owner to get in touch if they wished.

They could set up a 'dating' section, previous owner would like to meet reg XXX ???X and owners to reminisce about old times :)
Philip, Lynda and the cars.

Nice idea but previous requests have shown that the chances of getting in touch with the current owner of your old car via this site are very slim. Only a small number of members visit the site whereas all members receive Minor Matters so putting the request via the owners club is more likely to get a response.

Why not just send the doc's to the office so they can forward them on (after confirming membership od course). You could put a note in with the doc's then its up to the new owner if they want to contact you or not....
