Just out of interest, why do you want to know? are you planning a visit while on holiday?

I wonder if Mr Ware would give you the address for a visit?

I'm in Sri Lanka now.
With a bit of luck I'll be going down to Galle on Monday to visit:http://www.morrisminor.dk/sri_lanka_e.htm
A quick bit of Googling gave me Koggala but I've no idea how big a place it is and so whether ir is worth going there on spec.
I'll see how the rest of the trip turns out and then decide.
On Monday I'll be renting a 125cc Honda to make the journey on.
Wish me luck, because the driving here seems quite hairy :o

Fingers crossed then as it does sound a bit hair-raising

I've rather given up on that plan as the weather has turned and now wer'e getting tropical rain showers.
It's POURING :(
No way I'm going to risk getting soaked to the skin miles fron "home".
Should have planned things better while I was still in the UK.
Ho Hum.

I went to Sri Lanka about five years ago. Had a week to have fun after two weeks work in Mumbai, the guys in the Mumbai office recommended SL (I was going to go to Goa, which they pooh-poohed). Rented a Honda 125 in Colombo and went down south to Tangalle which is a beautiful beach (with not much else) a few miles further round the coast from Koggala. If you take it steady on the bike you'll be all right, the roads are a lot safer than Indian ones! But your face will be black after an hour or so, the trucks and cars have really dirty engines, even the new ones :(. Lovely people though. :D

Forgot to mention, don't underestimate SL journey times, your average speed will be 20 if you're lucky. It's ideal Minor country! Apart from the heat.

I'm back and I managed to find both the Minor places I was looking for.
Used a taxi in the end and just as well, I never would have found my way through Colombo (the main roads are good but hardly any signposts) also it poured with rain on the way back.
The driver was invaluable as I only had limited info gleaned from the web.
Durable cars is Mr Wares place. The staff were happy and friendly once I showed them my branch membership card and assured them I'm not a reporter.
They did say they could do with more orders and were doing a nice job of restoring several Minors.

Classic cars is Anton from Denmarks' place if you want van chassis this would be definately the place to come.
Here is the site I threw together (still took hours)
