13" slot mags on a ford disc brake conversion?

Hi, does anyone know if 13" slot mags will fit on a ford disc conversion? Having not done my research well enough i have just bought a lovely set of refurbished midget rostyles only to find they catch on the ford calipers. In my search for period wheel mods I am now looking at slot mags. Any help or experience gratefully received.

what stud pattern are you running?
if they only just catch you could use wheel spacers... I have 3mm ones on each side of my car to make the tyres clear the swivels

I think my answer is standard 4" minor pcd

Or just take a little metal off the calipers ? Personally - I don't see the 'charm' of Rostyle wheels - they were ghastly at the time - and haven't improved over the years !

Depends on your disc brake conversion donor.
Fiesta discs and calipers were designed to fit under 13" wheels from the off.
I believe most kits are escort based, a little research into disc sizes would help. I'd 'assume' if the discs for an escort are the same size as those used on the fiesta you'd be fine.
Assumption being no guarantee.

Strange - because Fiesta calipers fit nicely under Mini 10" wheels - common conversion!

No problem, the pic was to demonstrate the fit rather than the look. I fitted them because they were spare from my Cortina and i wanted a decent width rim (5.5). It was cheaper to change the Pcd (as part of the other mods) and fit them rather than refurbish narrow minor rims and find tyres for them. We all have rims we don't like and those we do. My choice would have been lotus steels with hubcaps but that would have involved spending money. The Ford 240mm disc escort sierra is the one used in the kits (there is a 260mm one to go under bigger wheels) either vented or solid and will go under a 13" wheel. When I fitted my old OB kit the instructions mentioned shimming the carriers carefully to avoid contact with a 13" wheel (I had no contact with the ital wheels but a slight touch with the Ford ones).

Thanks, i will look into shims. As to like them or not - I think it is always a matter of taste. The photo doesn't really do them justice but they came with 4 brand new tyres and total cost was £85 so worth a try i thought.

At that price a fair buy! Just paint them black and they won't be so obvious!
Only yanking your chain - i'm sure they will look very smart as they are.

You are correct, I was thinking XR spec stuff.
Normal fiesta calis and discs would have been designed to go under 12" wheels. The fact they go under 10 is a bonus for you mini lot.
