Wet Passenger Footwell

Post by AndrewW »

My poor Traveller has to live outdoors, but she sits under a decent waterproof car cover.

While cleaning her up this weekend, I discovered I've got a leak from somewhere as the passenger side front foot well carpets are quite wet. The floor is sound so it wouldn't seem to be water coming up from underneath and it's under a cover.

Any ideas?

What about a leaky heater or hose?

Wiper spindle?
Whip out your passenger side cardboard glovebox and check for a drip if all else fails.
What would Macgyver do..?

Could be quite a few things-
Windscreen rubber
Bonnet hinges
Wiper spindles
Window washer grommets (if fitted in scuttle)
Leaking washer hose
Worn door seal
Holes in bulkhead
Heater hose

Minors really are pretty leaky things, and it's a process of elimination to get them all sealed (if ever).

If the cover is good - it can't be coming in from outside! Has the rad water level dropped ?

Thanks everyone for your advice - yes the rad level has dropped. Maybe the penny has too!
