Hey,
I just got some inertia seatbelts and was wondering if anyone had installed them in a 2door. If so where did you put the holes?

Another case of misplaced holes. Who took them? Does anybody have some extra holes to spare? I never been able to find a place to buy holes, nobody has them in stock.

Seriously - the reel mounts at the bottom of the A post into the cill. The factory provided mounts were into a reinforced captive nut. The place the factory put the upper mount was onto the waist rail beneath the rear window. This was a reinforced section but did not have a captive nut. It was nut and bolt fitting and acess to the rear was provided by removing the rear quarter panel trim. The buckle was mounted to the floor into a threaded reinforced plate and was positioned to each side of the propshaft tunnel and just in front of the rear seat. It is worth noting that the original buckles were on a fabric strap and were quite long so if you are fitting modern wire strapped buckles they may have to be mounted further forward so that you can reach them from the seating position.....

Perhaps the photos below will give you some indication.
You may also need additional mounting plates for behind the reel and for under the tunnel.

The "hole"" in the plate is so you can tie in some string so that when you drop the mounting plate into the cavity behind the reel, you can pull it back out. There was a lot of gunge in there on mine so clean it out thoroughly afterwards and consider injecting waxoil or something similar.

I'd second that Declan, brilliant.
I will now plan to fit them to my Series 2.
