Well, here I am, the new and totally delighted new owner of Jenny. Picked her up from Mark this lunchtime in Lancashire, a bittersweet moment for him I'm sure, but I was really happy when I saw the condition of the car, not concours but as near to it as you'd want a useable car to be, and great value for the price. Son and I then showed her off to various members of my family up there before heading back down to Warminster. Five and a half hours later we're home, and what a brilliant experience we've had! Too much to go into it all here but once I'd got used to the 'interesting' driving position and we got over a tiny bit of lumpy running in Warrington (traffic plus a too-full tank) it didn't miss a beat all the way down. We opted to A-road it all the way, and the A49 through Cheshire showed up what a really tidy little handler the Minor is, completely secure and lovely positive steering. Can cars have human feelings? Who knows but I got the distinct impression Jenny was really enjoying stretching her legs! Very economical too. As I say, too much to go into now, I need to get some kip, but will come back on when my brain has unfuzzed itself a bit. Must say though that I can't thank Mark enough, he sorted out a package of really useful Minor stuff for me at a silly price which I'm afraid I'll not be paying – it's too low! – and he was on the end of the phone all day to reassure me and give me the inside line on Minor foibles. If he is a typical Minor owner then I'm looking forward to making some good pals in the future. PS Got insurance from RH, full package incl breakdown cover, no mileage limitations, other half included on the driver list too, all for £76. Amazing. :D :D

Great news Tony 8) Jenny looks like a lovely car (never saw her in the flesh), hope you have many happy miles/shows together :D

I'm with RH for insurance too by the way, not had to claim *touch wood* but they have been very good and easy to deal with so far.

It is a lovely car. We must have been quite close to you at one point this afternoon/evening! The A49 is nice when it's traffic-free.

Probably with 20 miles or so I would say! I like the A49, go from Warrington to just past Whitchurch on occasion. As you say, fine so long as the traffic is ok! Good "Minoring" roads

Jenny stayed out all night but she doesn't look any worse for the experience, in fact she looks great with a light morning dew on her. It's only a temporary situation, her 'coat' will be arriving tomorrow (CoverZone, very nice honest people that save you from yourself!) and she'll be moving to a friend's barn in the next day or two where she'll be able to chat to a couple of old mates apparently! My pal has very kindly offered me these cars, I haven't seen them yet but I imagine they haven't moved for a while. I'll take some snaps if I can and put some details up on the site.
