made me appreciate my moggy
I bought to sell last week a road legal peugeot 205 track day car. It had an Mi16 2.0 on webers as well as very expensive sorted everything. It went like stink. It was caged, harnesses nice buckets, propper sticky tyres (r888). It was a lot of fun to drive.
BUT
I didn't drive the moggy for about 4 or 5 days which is unusual for me. I sold the peugeot quicker than expected. Drove the moggy about an hour after delivering the peugeot and I had a far bigger smile on my face in the moggy.
It wasn't as quick, didn't handle as well, didn't stop as well, but it was so much more fun. It made me realise how much I love the little thing.
Point is I just ended up respecting the moggy for being such a valiant little trier, if you know what I mean.
It makes loads of nice, goes quite well and corners are for enjoying with a smile on your face.
yes the pug would have run rings round the moggy but it wasn't anywhere near as much FUN.

I'm sure we all know what you mean.
My old 'souped up' XR2 would leave the moggy for dust, as did my old 1.25 fesy.
Both were sold in favour of keeping the Morris. Mates thought I was stupid but then they'd never driven the RWD funbox known as a Minor.
btw, what did the pug go for if you dont mind me asking. Quite fancy a 205 myself. No rust.

I love it when I have to go somewhere and I find myself making excuses as to why I have to drive the Mog instead of the modern plastic Japanese thing. I also find that if I have to choose between going to the shop/hardware store/etc around the corner or the one 10 minutes up the road, I always go for the one up the road if I'm in the Mog. It's just too much fun to drive.
